![]() ![]() I did not give a thumbs up or down as it could go both ways. I did give it a good test drive but will uninstall. Grab free Audacity along with Kristal, some free VST's and you are all set for some serious home studio recording. If you just want a toy for the kids to mess around with it seems great for but a serious DAW it's not even close. Much more powerful and versitle, you can import tons of free VST Effects Plug Ins online and you can really produce high quality multitrack audio. The voice was male and sounded like the old SAM of Commodore 64 days, very computerish. I also tested the text to voice and wasn't impressed at all. I messed around a wee bit with effects and found them not of the best quality and the interface clumsy to use them. This gave me vocals in left side and guitar in right side of audio output. Then I recorded a stero track with guitar line in and mic. Also I could not find how to identify my FastTrack as the primary input device and when I went to record a new track my onboard mme soundcard was the default and I had to select the FastTrack each time.įirst I recorded a mono guitar track which recorded just fine with good quality. I can record mic and guitar simultaneously on one track with the FastTrack. I tried to add a second vocal track to the guitar track but I was unable to monitor the prerecorded guitar track so I could add the vocal in sync with the guitar. WaveMax recognized my sound card and fast track but I was unable to record the guitar and mic at the same time on different tracks. So I am took time to do a good test of WaveMax. I also use a Maudio Fasttrack Interface for guitar and mic inputs. It must happend that this morning I am recording guitar and vocal tracks with Kristal Audio Engine (free) which I have been using for several years along with Audacity and a host of effects VST add ons. So, why should someone go for a paid software or free for a limited time with a restriction that it cannot be upgraded in future (or pay for it if you need to upgrade) when freewares are there in the cyberworld (with a lot of better and powerful options)? There's another online tool called called "Myna".
